TW Day 24 to 25: Friday 11/26/2021 thru Saturday 11/27/2021

No GOAL for the next two days, just relaxation!

Stew STEW STEW!

Us in one of the communal pools

We spent many hours over in the hot tubs. Friday we spent a number of hours during the day and again in the evening in the communal pools.

Like us the cats spent lots of their time soaking… Soaking up Sun that is.

None of the sit down restaurants were open yesterday for Thanksgiving. Which is why we spent the effort making our own Thanksgiving feast. On Friday, however, Rob treated us to dinner at the “fine” dining establishment in Truth or Consequences. Los Arcos Steak & Lobster House is it. In fact it is the only steak restaurant in town.

Rob started with a shrimp cocktail, and Deryl chose the Oysters Rockefeller, for our appetizers. While enjoying our corner table, we noted that the restaurant was full, and that the waiters were busy tending the guests.

For our entries, Rob chose the Sirloin and Lobster dinner, and Deryl chose the Sirloin and Prawns. The dinners came with a nice house salad, and 2 sides. Our steaks were prepared properly and we enjoyed our dinners.

Saturday:

We had a morning soak in another of the private pools. Unfortunately, we forgot to bring a phone with us to take photographs!

Deryl disassembled the turkey and set the bones to boil in our Instant Pot. We left the marvel of modern cooking technology doing it’s thing while we ran across town to the Walmart.

We picked up a few groceries and more bottled water. We have learned to drink a LOT more water since we have come down to the dry south west.

When we returned to the trailer, Deryl deboned the turkey and then added carrots, celery, onion, and wide “Amish” noodles to the stock. Setting the Instant Pot to cook again, we went back across the street to have a short stew ourselves.

After we had a short nap, we had some of the Turkey soup for our dinner.

We returned to the communal pools after dark, for another soak before bedtime. The lighting is stunning as you can see from the photos.

The resort has illuminated not only the pools and veranda shades, but they project tiny lights onto the trees growing on the far bank of the Rio Grand. The effect is that the stars in the sky appear to twinkle all the way down and into the river. It makes a very magical effect!

After an hour of soaking and making new friends, we retired and had another night of sound sleep.
